Get Started
Begin Your Healing Journey
Taking the first step toward support can feel overwhelming. At Uriel Behavioral Wellness Inc., we’re here to make that step as simple, compassionate, and welcoming as possible. Our team of licensed clinicians provides personalized, evidence-based care for individuals, couples, and families, with a focus on helping you feel seen, heard, and supported as you work toward emotional well-being.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or relationship challenges, this page will walk you through exactly how to get started with services.
How the Process Works
Step 1: Complete the Quick Screener
Start by filling out our brief Getting Started Quick Screener. This helps us understand your needs, preferences, and what you’re hoping to work on in therapy.
You’ll be asked a few short questions about:
-
What you’re currently experiencing
-
The type of support you’re seeking (therapy, medication management, etc.)
-
Your availability and preferred session format (in-person or telehealth, when applicable)
Step 2: We Review and Match You With a Clinician
After you submit the screener, our team will review your information and determine:
-
Which service(s) best fit your needs (e.g., individual therapy, family therapy, medication management, DBT, EMDR, or other therapies we offer)
-
Which clinician or service provider is the best match based on your concerns, schedule, and preferences
If we need more information, we’ll reach out using your preferred contact method.
Step 3: Insurance, Fees, and Scheduling
Once we’ve identified the right service and provider for you, we will:
-
Discuss insurance and payment options.
-
Uriel Behavioral Wellness Inc. accepts select insurance plans.
-
Coverage varies by provider and plan, so we encourage you to verify your behavioral health benefits directly with your insurance company.
-
Clients are responsible for copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and any services not covered by insurance.
-
-
Explore private pay & sliding scale (if needed)
-
For clients without insurance or those who prefer private pay, we offer a limited number of sliding-scale appointments based on financial need, to help keep care as accessible as possible.
-
-
Schedule your first appointment.
-
We’ll confirm a date and time for your initial session.
-
Depending on the service, you may be seen in person at our Northridge office or via secure telehealth.
-
Button text idea: “Verify My Insurance” or “Talk With Our Team.”
Step 4: Complete Your Intake Forms
Before your first appointment, you’ll receive access to our Client Portal to complete your intake paperwork securely online.
You may be asked for:
-
Contact information
-
Date of birth
-
Insurance details (if applicable)
-
A brief overview of your concerns and mental health history
-
Emergency contact information
Completing these forms ahead of time allows your clinician to focus the first session on you—not paperwork.
What to Expect at Your First Session
Your first session is a chance for you and your clinician to get to know one another and begin building a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, safety, and respect.
During this visit, you can expect to:
-
Talk about what brought you to therapy now.
-
Share your goals, hopes, and concerns.
-
Learn more about our approach and how therapy can support you.
-
Ask any questions you may have about the process.
Our clinicians use a holistic, evidence-based approach—considering mind, body, and spirit—to support meaningful, sustainable change.
